Why have I never heard about YouSet before?
Glad you asked! We’re a new company and we prefer to focus on efforts on finding you the best insurance policy for your needs rather than spending millions of dollars on advertising like some of our competitors. This strategy word-of-mouth strategy is paying off so far as you can tell from our many 5-star reviews on Facebook or Google.
What if I need to talk to someone?
If you have questions about your coverage before buying with us or need to make modifications to your active policy, our dedicated team is here to help you and ready to talk to you by email, SMS or phone.
Is YouSet allowed to sell insurance?
Yes, we are. For each province in which we operate, YouSet is licensed by the provincial regulatory body. In Quebec, our registration number with the AMF is 603592. In Ontario, our registration number with RIBO is 4477.
Where is YouSet available?
YouSet is currently available to Quebec and Ontario residents. Don’t worry though, we’re planning on releasing our service nationwide soon enough.
How much does YouSet cost?
YouSet is FREE (yes, you read it right!). We earn a commission paid by the insurance company, with no impact on your purchase price. This means we only get paid when we are able to find you a better coverage than what our competitors have to offer.
How much can I save with YouSet?
Everyone is different and that’s why we work with multiple insurance companies to match our users with the best insurance policy based on their unique situation. So far, this strategy has allowed our users to save close to 29% on average! Give us a try and you’ll see it for yourself.
When will the first payment for my policy take place?
The payments are done by pre-authorized debit every month. Typically, the first payment will take place within 5 to 7 business days after you have confirmed your purchase with us.
Can I make changes to my coverage before buying?
Of course! We want to make sure that you get the right policy for your needs. That’s why we offer you the option to decrease or increase certain coverages. You can do so by scrolling down on your quote page and clicking on “-” and “+” symbols. Your monthly premium will be adjusted accordingly, in real-time.
Can I add someone else to my policy?
Yes, when you’re about to purchase your policy with us, this is one of the last questions we will ask you right before your bank information. There is no extra fee to add someone to your policy. You can only add one additional person to a policy at this time.
Am I going to sign a contract with the insurance company?
Nothing to sign. We simply need your written or oral confirmation so that we can move forward and issue your insurance policy. Therefore, when we reach out to you via SMS, email or phone, the quicker you get back to us, the quicker we can move forward.
Once we have your confirmation, we will issue your policy and send you a copy via email. The policy is valid for 1 year and can be canceled at any time.
Can I switch my current insurance to a better option with YouSet anytime?
Yes, you can switch insurance companies anytime. Even if you have already paid for a full policy term, you can cancel and get money back on a prorated basis. There are a few companies that charge an “early termination fee”, so please reach out to us if you have any questions and we’ll look into it for you.
Why should I buy with YouSet instead of directly with the insurance company?
If you try to contact the insurance company directly, they will redirect you to one of their agents or brokers. The agent or broker will then call you and will ask you to repeat all the questions you’ve answered on our website already and then the price you get then may be more expensive than our price.
The advantage of going with YouSet is that we already have negotiated the best rate for you. Also, once you have completed a quote on our website, you can turn it into an active policy with a few extra clicks, without being redirected to another company, agent or broker.
How do I make changes to my policy with YouSet?
Once you have purchased an insurance policy with us, you can easily make changes by visiting the My Account section of our website and requesting the changes online. We’ll take care of making the appropriate changes for you and then send you an updated copy of your policy.
Can I transfer my insurance to someone else?
We cannot transfer your insurance policy to someone else, since you are the principal holder of the policy. We can make a change of address on your policy and the other person can take their own insurance in 4 minutes by doing a quote on our website. If you are not interested in doing a change of address, we need to cancel the policy if you are not living at the insured address.
How do I submit a claim?
You need to contact your insurance company directly (Economical, Intact, l’Unique, etc.) Please visit the claims section of our website for more details on how to submit a claim and the phone number to call. Keep in mind that if ever you need assistance, you can contact us at contact@youset.ca or 514-613-6267 and it will be a pleasure to assist you.
How can I get information about my claim in process?
You need to call the claims phone number of your insurance company (Economical, Intact, l’Unique…) to make a follow-up about your claim. Their phone number is on the claims section of our website.
Why my monthly payments are more expensive than the price I saw in the quote I did?
First of all, you need to check if your annual premium is the same as the one you saw in your quote. If yes, you probably have 11 withdrawals instead of 12. Please, verify the payment schedule sent by the insurance company with your policy documents. Since the premium is divided by 11 instead of 12, it is normal that the monthly withdrawals are more expensive. If the annual premium is different than the one you saw online and we didn’t inform you, you can write us an email at contact@youset.ca and we will help you with that.
My payment didn't work for insufficient funds. What should I do?
It depends on your insurance company. Please, review the list below:
-
- Economical will try the withdrawal again automatically in the next 3-10 days. If the second try does not work, you will receive a letter with another date for the payment and there will be a $25 NSF fee on the next payment.
- Intact will send you a letter with another date for the payment plus a $40 NSF fee.
- L’Unique will send you a letter with another date for the payment plus a $35 NSF fee.
- If you are with another insurance company, you can write us an email at contact@youset.ca and we will help you with that.
