What is my best price?
YouSet’s algorithms are designed to do one thing – find you the best price. By analyzing the details you provide, we scan our network of insurers, apply exclusive discounts, and present you with the best option.
Protect what’s yours with condo insurance
Your condo association’s insurance might cover the building and common areas, but when it comes to your unit, coverage stops at your front door. Protect what’s yours with condo insurance from YouSet – starting at just $12 a month, with quick quotes and a hassle-free online checkout.
Personal belongings coverage
Personal belongings coverage, also known as contents insurance, covers your belongings (ex. clothing, electronics, furniture) wherever they are, even if it is not in your condo at the time. It’s automatically included in all YouSet condo insurance policies.
Betterments and improvements coverage
Betterments and improvements coverage covers any renovations or upgrades made to your unit, whether by you or a previous owner, including walls, flooring, cabinetry, and fixtures. It’s automatically included in all YouSet condo insurance policies.
Additional living expenses coverage
If a covered claim forces you to temporarily move out of your condo, additional living expenses coverage can help pay for hotel stays, temporary rentals, and other living costs. It’s automatically included in all YouSet condo insurance policies.
Personal liability coverage
If someone gets hurt while visiting your unit or you accidentally damage a neighbour’s property, personal liability coverage can help cover medical bills, legal fees, and repair costs – no matter where you are in the world. It’s automatically included in all YouSet condo insurance policies.
Unit contingency coverage
If your condo association’s insurance policy for the building isn’t enough to cover damages or losses to your unit, unit contingency coverage can help fill the gap. It’s automatically included in all YouSet condo insurance policies.
Loss assessment coverage for property damage
If your condo association issues a special assessment for damages to common areas (ex. the building’s roof) exceeding the master policy’s coverage limit, property loss assessment coverage can help cover your share. It’s automatically included in all YouSet condo insurance policies.
Sewer backup coverage
If sewage backs up into your unit from sewers, floor drains, or septic tanks, sewer backup coverage can help cover the damage to your unit, your belongings (even those in your storage unit), and potential relocation fees. It’s optional but strongly recommended.
Overland water coverage
If freshwater unexpectedly enters your condo due to excessive rain, melting snow, or other causes, overland water coverage can help cover the damage to your unit, your belongings (even those in your storage unit), and potential relocation fees. It’s optional but strongly recommended.
Above-ground water coverage
If water unexpectedly enters your condo from above, such as through the ceiling, walls, windows, doors, or roof, above-ground water coverage can help cover the damage to your unit, your belongings (even those in your storage unit), and potential relocation fees. While optional, it’s strongly recommended, especially since condos are often close together, allowing damage to spread quickly.
Identity theft coverage
Unlike your bank, which covers fraudulent charges, identity theft coverage reimburses you for unexpected expenses like legal fees, document replacement, and banking charges.
Coverage for valuables
If you own an item that’s valuable or hard to replace, you can add it to your policy as a floater. That way, if it’s lost or damaged by a covered event, it’s protected for its full appraised value.
Save up to 15% more when you bundle
YouSet is the only digital broker in Canada that automatically compares the cost of bundling condo and car insurance from a single insurer against the cost of mix-and-match condo and car insurers. Whichever option offers the best price is the one we present to you.

Additional resources for condo owners
We know that condo insurance can feel intimidating, which is why we created these helpful resources to help you throughout the process.
Is YouSet insurance legit?
Yes, YouSet is fully legitimate! We are a registered damage insurance brokerage, licensed by the AMF in Quebec and RIBO in Ontario, allowing us to offer a full range of personal lines insurance products in both provinces.
Can I switch to YouSet even though I’m in the middle of a policy elsewhere?
Absolutely – you can switch to YouSet at any time, even if you’re in the middle of a policy elsewhere! While your current provider may charge an Early Termination Fee, the money you save by switching now might more than make up for the fee in the long run.
What kind of insurance do I need for a condo?
The insurance you need as a condo owner is condo insurance. It will cover everything inside your front door, including the permanent fixtures of your unit, upgrades or renovations, personal belongings, and even liability for accidents that occur in your unit.
Additional coverage, particularly for water damage, is also strongly recommended given the nature of condo living and how quickly damage can spread to neighbouring units.
Is condo insurance mandatory?
No, condo insurance is not legally mandatory in Canada if your condo is fully paid for (mortgage-free). However, your condo association may make it mandatory. In either case, you should expect to be asked to provide proof of insurance.
How much does condo insurance cost?
On average, condo insurance costs YouSet users $20 a month in Quebec and $21 a month in Ontario. However, your premium will depend on several factors, including your condo’s location, property characteristics, and your personal claims history.
*Average savings are based on users who purchased condo insurance with YouSet on or before June 17, 2024. Individual savings may vary and are not guaranteed.
