Eight of the 10 best-selling vehicles were classified as trucks, a category that includes SUVs, pickups, and minivans. With SUVs and trucks everywhere, thieves naturally become bigger targets.<\/span>\n\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-popularity\">4. Popularity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When a particular make or model is popular, as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadadrives.ca\/blog\/car-guide\/top-car-brands-in-canada-a-comprehensive-guide-for-canadian-drivers\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Honda\u2019s and Toyota\u2019s are in Canada<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, there are simply more opportunities for thieves to steal those cars. Additionally, as these cars become more common, the demand for their parts increases, making them even more enticing and lucrative for criminals to steal and sell for parts.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Granted, popularity alone doesn\u2019t determine the likelihood of theft. Take the Dodge RAM 1500 series, for example. With over 500,000 insured, it was the second most stolen vehicle in 2024, yet its theft frequency is relatively low at just 0.59%. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-vulnerable-anti-theft-systems\">5.
